Terry Bitar is an architect, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose journey is rooted in resilience, vision, and the belief that design is not only about buildings, but about shaping lives, communities, and long-term opportunity. Born into a Lebanese and Armenian family, Terry brings together the values of her cultural heritage with a forward-thinking, purpose-driven approach to leadership.

Her story is one of reinvention and expansion, from surviving crisis in Lebanon to building one of Washington, DC’s dynamic and fast-growing architecture, engineering, permitting, and construction firms.

Terry earned her Bachelor’s degree in Architecture with High Distinction from Notre Dame University–Louaize, where she consistently made the Dean’s List. With a strong academic foundation in advanced mathematics, she developed the technical precision that continues to define her approach to design, structural thinking, and complex problem-solving. She later earned a Master’s degree in Sustainable Architecture from the Lebanese University in Hadath, deepening her expertise in sustainability, innovation, and responsible development.

Terry earned her MBA from The George Washington University, graduating Magna Cum Laude with a focus on Finance. This advanced business training strengthened her expertise in financial strategy, leadership, growth planning, and enterprise development, supporting her vision to build Bitarchitects as a disciplined, competitive, and scalable architecture, engineering, permitting, and construction firm.

At the age of 22, Terry founded the Charity Donation Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to poverty alleviation and social impact. Over more than a decade, the foundation led multiple initiatives in Lebanon, including the Love Bites food brand, which expanded into several pop-up stores and combined social purpose with local economic opportunity. Her philanthropic work has earned recognition from international and regional organizations, including Lions Club International and organizations across Japan, Jordan, and the broader Middle East.

After surviving the Beirut Blast in 2020, Terry relocated to Washington, DC, where she founded Bitarchitects, a licensed and insured multidisciplinary firm providing architecture, engineering, permitting, code, zoning, construction management, and construction services. In recognition of her professional, academic, and entrepreneurial accomplishments, she was granted a US Green Card through the National Interest Waiver petition.

By 2026, Bitarchitects has continued to expand its presence across the Washington, DC region and beyond, serving residential, commercial, institutional, and public-sector clients. The firm has been recognized as a DC Power Player for four consecutive years, received Best of the City for three consecutive years, and Terry has been named a Dynamic Woman for two consecutive years. In 2025, Terry and Bitarchitects also received the DC SBDC Entrepreneurial Award, further recognizing the firm’s growth, leadership, and contribution to the local business ecosystem.

Under Terry’s leadership, Bitarchitects has grown into a fully licensed and certified firm positioned to serve both private and government clients. The firm holds key certifications and registrations, including CBE, MWAA, DDOT, and DC Supply Schedule participation, and provides integrated services across architecture, multidisciplinary engineering, permitting, and construction. Bitarchitects is known for delivering technically strong, cost-conscious, and design-driven solutions with a modern, technology-forward approach.

A defining strength of Bitarchitects is the way Terry operates with a high-level Advisory Board composed of senior leaders and accomplished professionals across government, military, engineering, infrastructure, real estate development, law, and strategic growth. The board includes retired Army officials, colonels, generals, major generals, and other highly respected professionals, bringing disciplined insight, broader oversight, and a more competitive understanding of complex project delivery, government contracting, public-sector leadership, and long-term institutional growth.

As Founder and Managing Partner, Terry continues to lead Bitarchitects with a focus on strategic growth, operational excellence, exceptional client service, and long-term impact. She remains an active voice for women’s empowerment, educational access, entrepreneurship, and professional equity. Proud of her Lebanese roots, Armenian heritage, and American home, Terry continues to build a career and company shaped by resilience, discipline, ambition, and service.
