Washington, DC – October 19, 2026
Bitarchitects Founder and Managing Partner, Terry Bitar, was featured in Modern Luxury Spotlight: Dynamic Women 2026. Through this feature, the publication recognized her leadership, entrepreneurial journey, and commitment to shaping the built environment through integrated design, engineering, and permitting services.
As the founder of Bitarchitects, she led an integrated practice that brought architecture, engineering, and permitting together under one roof. In doing so, she emphasized collaboration, client-centered service, and the importance of guiding projects from initial concepts to completed spaces. Furthermore, her approach connected each stage of a project to help turn ideas into practical results.
“I believe the future of our industry is more integrated and client-centered,” she said.
For Ms. Bitar, successful architecture extended beyond design alone. Rather, it involved creating meaningful spaces while coordinating the technical, business, and regulatory needs that helped bring a vision to life. As a result, her approach considered not only the design itself but also the many factors required to complete a project successfully.
“Great design is only the beginning. What matters most is guiding people from an idea to a place they can experience, enjoy and call their own.”
Drawing on her Lebanese-Armenian heritage and professional experience in Washington, DC, she highlighted resilience, empathy, and community as important influences on her leadership. Moreover, she believed successful projects reached beyond individual buildings. In her view, they reflected the connection between design, policy, business, and the needs of the people who would ultimately use the spaces. Therefore, understanding these connections remained an important part of creating meaningful places.
Her perspective also explored the relationship between art, identity, and architecture. In particular, she drew inspiration from Japanese contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama. Through Kusama’s work, she recognized the power of a distinctive visual language. Similarly, she saw the potential to express artistic identity through architectural design, connecting creative expression with the built environment.
In Modern Luxury’s Dynamic Women 2026 feature, she also shared advice for women pursuing careers in architecture, engineering, and construction. Specifically, she emphasized professional development, high standards, and meaningful collaboration. In addition, she encouraged women to keep learning, strengthen their professional skills, and build relationships that support growth. By working with people who challenge their thinking, women can also gain new perspectives and continue to develop professionally.
“Architecture and construction can be demanding, but women belong at every decision-making table,” she said. “Learn continuously, protect your standards and cultivate relationships with people who challenge your thinking, not merely those who agree with you.”
Ultimately, Ms. Bitar continued to champion an integrated approach to the built environment through her leadership at Bitarchitects. By bringing design, technical expertise, and project coordination together, she helped connect ideas with practical solutions. In this way, her approach supported the transformation of concepts into completed spaces that people could experience and enjoy.
